Manchester – The owners and managers of Cyr Lumber and Home Center of Windham visited the NH Food Bank on Thursday and presented the charity a check in the amount of $5000.00 to help in their fight against hunger in New Hampshire.
The money was raised at Cyr’s annual golf tournament held at the Windham Country Club back in September. Cyr plans and organizes this annual event, inviting their loyal and hard working customers as a thank you for their continued business. Money was raised by donations collected at various raffles and charity-hole challenges throughout the day’s event.
After the presentation of the check, Melanie Gosselin, Executive Director of the NH Food Bank, took the group for a tour of the food bank facility. Melanie explained that the money Cyr raised will make 10,000 meals to feed NH’s hungry.
This month we have been busy working with the Upper Room, a family resource center committed to creating educational programs and services, which strengthen individuals and families. We are humbled to have helped this amazing organization that so often helps the families in our community with information and support not only in times of crisis but on a day-to-day basis. The kitchen in the resource center was in need of some serious TLC and we were so excited to upgrade them with a new layout, cabinetry and finishes.
